Promise Made, Promise Kept: President Trump Brings Another American Home

Since taking office, President Donald J. Trump and his Administration have secured the release of 105 detained Americans held abroad - delivering on their unwavering commitment to leave no American behind.

Today, that promise was fulfilled once again.

Dennis Coyle, an American researcher from Colorado, was reunited with his family after more than a year in Taliban captivity in Afghanistan.

In January, President Trump vowed to take a strong stand on Mr. Coyle's unjust detention. This morning, Mr. Coyle stepped off a plane and embraced his loved ones - proof that when President Trump makes a commitment, he delivers.

Mr. Coyle joins other Americans freed through the Trump Administration's decisive diplomacy, including:

  • Ksenia Karelina, an American ballet dancer wrongfully detained for 14 months in a Russian penal colony.
  • Marc Fogel, a Pennsylvania teacher held for years in a Russian prison.
  • Keith Siegel, an American citizen held hostage by Hamas for 484 days.
  • George Glezmann, an American airline mechanic detained by the Taliban for 836 days.

Under President Trump, the United States does not leave its citizens behind.
