Columbia Police arrest ATM "jackpotting" suspect

(COLUMBIA, MO)-

On Nov. 26, Columbia Police arrested Antoni Jesus Garcia-Cordoba, 42, of North Carolina, on a warrant for his involvement in ATM "jackpotting" incidents. Multiple police departments from other states advised Columbia Police detectives that Garcia-Cordoba was a suspect of thefts from ATMs.

Pennsylvania State Police informed CPD that Garcia-Cordoba stopped in Columbia. Detectives were able to locate and arrest Garcia-Cordoba at a short-term rental. After serving a search warrant on the residence, detectives were able to locate evidence involved in the scheme.

The Columbia Police Department would like to thank the Pennsylvania State Police for their assistance in this apprehension that likely protected our local businesses, as well as many other potential victims.

This is an ongoing investigation. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Columbia Police Department at 573.874.7652.
