Think your room has the best vibe on campus? Time to prove it. The University of Toledo's Office of Residence Life is hosting a Room Decorating Contest, running Monday, Sept. 14, through Friday, Sept. 18, to highlight the creativity and personal style of Rockets living on campus.
Students are encouraged to transform their rooms into spaces that reflect their personality, school spirit or unique aesthetic. To enter, simply snap a photo of your decorated room and submit it through the online contest submission form.
Sydney Crowley, left, a freshman marketing major, and Mariah Gaines, a freshman studying criminal justice, took first place in the Office of Residence Life's 2025 room decorating contest. This year's contest begins Sept. 14.
From the submissions, the Office of Residence Life will select the top three rooms. Those finalists will then be shared on Instagram @ToledoResLife, where the Rocket community will have the final say by voting for their favorites on Wednesday, Sept. 23, through Friday, Sept. 25.
Winners will be announced after that.
Prizes for the winners include:
"This contest is about celebrating student creativity and making the residence halls feel like home," said Hailey Curry, director of Residence Life. "Last year, we had so many students showcase their personalized rooms through creative and decorative choices, which helped inspire other Rockets. We can't wait to see how Rockets are personalizing their spaces this year."
Whether it's a cozy study corner, walls covered with Rocket pride or a full-on room makeover, showcase your personality and school spirit. Don't miss the opportunity to participate, win prizes and inspire your fellow Rockets.
