Livestock futures exhibited choppy price action to close out the week and month. April Live Cattle futures finished the session at 236.80 while March Feeder Cattle futures faced additional pressure, settling at 359.82. In the cash market, reports indicated a stronger trade developing in Texas, even as the USDA daily livestock summary showed live steers averaging 2$34.20 on light volume. Daily slaughter was reported at 112,000 head, bringing the week-to-date total to 436,000, which remains significantly lower than the same period last year. Lean Hogs futures also saw a softer session, with April futures settling at 95.25.
