The Minister for Youth and Children, Sira Rego, and the First Lady of Brazil, Janja Lula da Silva, in the Botanical Garden of the University of Valencia
During a meeting in Valencia, Sira Rego and Rosangela da Silva stressed the urgent need to "adapt the justice system to a child-centred perspective," so that "the rights of children and adolescents are guaranteed in all processes that affect them."
Furthermore, Rego and da Silva shared the view that "the digital environment is not democratic," but rather a "privatised public space where private interests currently prevail over rights."
Following the meeting, the Minister for Youth and Children, Sira Rego, stated that, for both Spain and Brazil, it is a priority to "democratise and limit the power of technology companies." According to Rego, the executives of both countries agree "on the need to globally address the challenges of the digital environment."
