China's major summer season crops include cotton, soybeans, and rice and were planted within the optimum planting window between March and May. In general, favorable production is expected, and there have been no observed or reported adverse conditions affecting sowing, early plant establishment and development. Adverse conditions are often characterized by heavy, long-lasting rains and high humidity, resulting in waterlogging, crop lodging, and prolonged planting or replanting times beyond the optimum planting window.
