Visuals Available for Dallas City Council Bond Discussion on Wednesday
On Wednesday, the Dallas City Council will discuss a proposal to hold a bond election on November 3, 2026. Three propositions will be considered by the city council:
Proposition A would authorize the issuance of $443,000,000 general obligation bonds for the purpose of providing funds for planning, designing, constructing, improving, renovating, replacing, and equipping public safety facilities and improvements, including police, fire and emergency services improvements and facilities, and the related acquisition of land. Key projects that would be funded by bonds include moving 911 and emergency center operations, the police property room and DPD pistol range.
Proposition B would authorize the issuance of $17,000,000 in general obligation bonds for the purpose of providing funds for planning, designing, constructing, improving, renovating, repairing, replacing, expanding and equipping City fleet maintenance facilities. That would include the Southeast Service Center.
Proposition C would authorize issuance of $500,000,000 in pension obligation bonds (POB) for the purpose of funding a portion of the unfunded liability of the City with respect to the Dallas Police and Fire Pension System.
Photographs are available to journalists working on stories about the bond proposals. Because of restrictions on access to 911, the property room and the gun range, members of the DPD public information office took pictures of those facilities. DFR is providing pictures of Fire Station 4 (just south of Dallas City Hall) and vehicles services provided photographs of the Southeast Fleet Service Center.
