Ambassador Zhang Lizhong hosted a reception for the Chinese delegation at the 63rd Annual Session of the Asian-African Legal Consultative Organization

On September 9, Ambassador Zhang Lizhong hosted a reception for the Chinese delegation to the 63rd Annual Session of the Asian-African Legal Consultative Organization (AALCO) and delivered a speech. The Chinese delegation led by Deputy Director Liu Yang of the Treaty and Law Department of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, along with the AALCO Annual Session President, Uganda's Attorney General Kiwanuka, the AALCO Secretary-General, and approximately 200 representatives from various countries attended the reception.

Ambassador Zhang introduced the Global Governance Initiative, emphasizing that it is an important international public product proposed by President Xi Jinping to reform and improve the global governance system. Its core "five anchors" highlight the common aspirations of developing countries to promote the equitable and rational development of the global governance system. China is willing to work with all countries to promote this Initiative, firmly safeguard the international system with the United Nations at its core, firmly safeguard the international order based on international law, and firmly defend the basic norms of international relations based on the purposes and principles of the UN Charter, and work together to build a community with a shared future for mankind.

The guests at the reception spoke highly of the rich connotations, contemporary value and global significance of the global governance initiative.
