Early Voting for the April Special Election Begins Friday, March 6, 2026

Early voting for the April Special Election on a Proposed Constitutional Amendment begins in Stafford County on Friday, March 6, 2026. The special election is on April 21, 2026. The only item on the ballot is listed below:

Question: Should the Constitution of Virginia be amended to allow the General Assembly to temporarily adopt new congressional districts to restore fairness in the upcoming elections, while ensuring Virginia's standard redistricting process resumes for all future redistricting after the 2030 census?

You may request a mail-in ballot from the General Registrar until 5 p.m. on April 10, 2026.

REMINDER: The General Registrar's Office is located at 124 Old Potomac Church Road, Suite 205, Stafford, VA 22554.

All early voting will be available at 124 Old Potomac Church Road, Suite 205, Stafford, VA 22554. There will be NO early voting available at the George L. Gordon, Jr., Government Center. Early voting is available Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., from March 6, 2026, through April 17, 2026. It will also be available on two Saturdays before the election - April 11, 2026, and April 18, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

  • April 10, 2026 - Last Day to Request an Absentee Ballot by Mail
  • April 14, 2026 - Last Day to Register or Make Changes to Existing Voter Registration
  • April 11, 2026, and April 18, 2026 - Saturday Early Voting from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
  • April 18, 2026 - Last Day for Early Voting

Absentee Ballot Drop Boxes are available during early voting hours and at the Registrar's Office during normal business hours from March 6, 2026, through April 21, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. A drop box will be available at all polling locations on April 21, 2026, from 6:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m.
