RELEASE: Rep. Friedman Celebrates Expanded Olympic Role for Pasadena’s Rose Bowl

PASADENA, CA - Today, September 15, 2025, U.S. Congresswoman Laura Friedman (CA-30) celebrated the decision to move Olympic diving events for the 2028 Summer Games to the Rose Bowl Aquatics Center in Pasadena, adding to the Rose Bowl's already significant role as a host venue.

"The Rose Bowl has long been a centerpiece of our community and was already set to play a major role in the 2028 Olympics. I'm thrilled that diving will now join soccer here in Pasadena, showcasing not only the historic Rose Bowl Stadium but also our world-class Rose Bowl Aquatics Center," said Congresswoman Laura Friedman (CA-30). "This expansion ensures Pasadena will be at the heart of the Games when the world comes to Los Angeles in 2028, while also delivering real benefits for our community. The fans and athletes who come here will help support our local restaurants, hotels, and small businesses, boosting our economy."

Congressional District 30 will now host Olympic soccer matches at the Rose Bowl Stadium, Olympic diving at the Rose Bowl Aquatics Center, and squash at Universal Studios, welcoming athletes and spectators from around the world.
