APO Secretariat Welcomes PPI Kanto Delegation

On 13 May 2026, the APO Secretariat welcomed a delegation of 20 members from the Indonesian Students Association in Japan, Kanto Chapter (PPI Kanto) for a dialogue on productivity and economic growth. PPI Kanto represents more than 1,200 Indonesian students pursuing studies across various academic disciplines at universities in Japan. The visit provided an opportunity for the students to learn more about the APO's work and exchange views on productivity, competitiveness, and sustainable development.

During the session, the APO Secretariat provided an overview of APO history and the concept of productivity, highlighting its role in strengthening competitiveness and supporting sustainable development in its member economies. A presentation on Indonesia's National Productivity Master Plan also discussed productivity conditions in Indonesia and the factors influencing them.

The session concluded with an interactive discussion between the delegation and APO officers, including the Secretary-General, allowing participants to exchange perspectives on productivity challenges and opportunities in Indonesia and the region. The visit provided a platform for dialogue and knowledge exchange on productivity and economic development.

The visit also underscored the important role of young Indonesians studying in Japan as future leaders. With their diverse academic backgrounds and international exposure, PPI Kanto members are expected to contribute not only to Indonesia-Japan relations but also to broader regional and global development efforts. The dialogue served as a platform for knowledge exchange and encouraged the students to apply productivity-oriented thinking in their future careers and leadership roles.
