AI Summit 2027: Switzerland indicates willingness to host event

At its meeting on 28 January, the Federal Council confirmed Switzerland's intention to organise a summit on artificial intelligence (AI) in Geneva in 2027. A final decision will be taken at the next AI summit in Delhi in February.

The Federal Department of the Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications (DETEC), with the support of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA), has completed preparations to organise an AI summit in Switzerland. This involved close collaboration with India, which is organising the next summit. Funding for the 2027 summit in Switzerland has been secured: the existing budget covers the costs, supplemented by contributions from third parties.

All parties involved reaffirm their shared commitment to pressing ahead with the organisation of the summit.

Switzerland plans to host a summit on artificial intelligence in 2027 (press release dated 25 June 2025)
