'Pet of the Week' - Kash

In an effort to spread the word about animal adoption and to help these loving animals find fur-ever homes, the City of Lewisville will feature a Pet of the Week each week in this media packet, available for adoption at the Gene Carey Animal Shelter and Adoption Center, 995 E. Valley Ridge.

This week's featured pet is Kash, a 4-year-old male Siberian Husky mix.

Kash is a handsome boy who would love a home to call his own. He is described as the "calmest husky" by his previous family. He gets along with other dogs, but it's best to not pair him with cats.

Kash is vaccinated, wormed, microchipped, had flea treatment applied, and is sterilized. He has tested positive for heartworms, but please don't let that scare you away - heartworm disease is very treatable. Lewisville Animal Services will provide Kash's heartworm treatment. Please call the shelter at 972.219.3478 for more information about the heartworm treatment protocol.

Anyone interested in Kash can submit an application through the "Adoptable Pets" page at cityoflewisville.com. Just click on his picture and follow the unique URL to begin an online adoption application. Once the application has been submitted, Lewisville Animal Services will call the applicant on or before the next business day. If approved, staff will counsel the potential adoption and will schedule an appointment for an in-person visit with Vesper.
