Celebrating International Year of the Woman Farmer

The Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food & Markets is developing a Social Media Campaign highlighting some of Vermont's women farmers.

This coincides with U.S. introducing a resolution declaring 2026 as the International Year of the Women Farmer with 123 countries serving as co-sponsors. The UN General Assembly adopted it May 2, 2024, marking a global commitment to empowering and recognizing the contributions of women in agriculture. If you would like to participate please submit:

  • Your name and farm/farm business

  • 4-5 photos of yourself farming/producing

  • A brief summary on the background of your work

  • A quote on how you approach your work as a farmer/producer

  • Any Social Media accounts we should link to in the post
