Vance Noles Selected as William Howard Taft National Historic Site Superintendent

The National Park Service announces the selection of Vance Noles as the new superintendent of William Howard Taft National Historic Site. He currently serves as chief ranger at Richmond National Battlefield Park and Maggie L. Walker National Historic Site in Richmond, Virginia, and will take on his new role this fall.
"Vance Noles brings a record of thoughtful leadership, teamwork, and dependable service built over more than twenty years," said Acting Deputy Regional Director Pete Swisher. "His ability to work with others and lead with integrity makes him an excellent choice for the William Howard Taft National Historic Site."
Vance began his career with National Park Service in 2001 as a seasonal employee at Yellowstone National Park. During the past 25 years, he has worked at 10 parks across five regions, serving in operational and leadership positions such as chief ranger and interdisciplinary chief of visitor services. He is passionate about preserving the stories and places entrusted to the National Park Service and believes the best way to accomplish that mission is by supporting and empowering employees.

The William Howard Taft National Historic Site preserves the Taft family home, where William Howard Taft learned the principles of integrity, academic excellence, and lifelong civic duty. These values shaped his distinguished career as the only person to lead both the executive and judicial branches of the U.S. government and contributed to his pragmatic approach to public service during a transformative era in American history.
Originally from Bradenton, Florida, Vance is a graduate of the University of South Florida, where he earned a bachelor's degree in fine arts. In his free time, he enjoys outdoor festivals and international travel with his son.
