Vanguard Institutional Total Stock Market Index Fund
Supplement Dated July 29, 2026, to the Prospectus and Summary Prospectus Dated April 28, 2026
Important Changes to the Fund
  Morningstar, Inc. ("Morningstar") has announced the acquisition of the Center for Research in Security Prices ("CRSP") and its CRSP Market Indexes. As a result of these changes, the board of trustees of Vanguard Institutional Index Funds has approved the renaming of Vanguard Institutional Total Stock Market Index Fund (the "Fund") as shown below.
The Fund's name change is effective as of July 29, 2026. The Fund's investment objective, strategies, and polices remain unchanged.

Important Changes to Vanguard Institutional Total Stock Market Index Fund (the "Fund")

Morningstar, Inc. ("Morningstar") has announced the acquisition of the Center for Research in Security Prices ("CRSP") and its CRSP Market Indexes. As a result of these changes, the board of trustees of Vanguard Institutional Index Funds has approved the renaming of the Fund, as shown below.

The Fund's name change is effective as of July 29, 2026. The Fund's investment objective, strategies, and polices remain unchanged.
