City of St. Petersburg Marks National Black Business Month with Citywide Events Supporting Black Entrepreneurs

August 5, 2026 - This August, the City of St. Petersburg joins communities nationwide in observing National Black Business Month. In partnership with the St. Pete Greenhouse, the City will roll out a monthlong lineup of events designed to connect residents with Black entrepreneurs across St. Petersburg and business owners with resources the City provides.

"We are pleased to once again recognize August as National Black Business Month and honor the Black-owned businesses that help our City's economy thrive," said Mayor Kenneth T. Welch. "I'm proud to support National Black Business Month because St. Petersburg is committed to inclusive and intentional economic development that improves the quality of life for every resident, in every neighborhood. Every month, but especially in August, I encourage everyone to shop local and learn more about Black-owned businesses that help make our community vibrant."
