FLETC Recognizes HSI Special Agent Alexander I. Deardorff as 2025 Honor Graduate of the Year

GLYNCO, Ga. - On Wednesday, July 29, 2026, the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) recognized Special Agent Alexander I. Deardorff of Homeland Security Investigations as the 2025 Honor Graduate of the Year, honoring his outstanding performance, leadership, and commitment to public service.

"Today we celebrate one of the highest achievements in federal law enforcement training," said FLETC Director Benjamine C. Huffman. "This year, we proudly recognize Special Agent Alexander I. Deardorff of Homeland Security Investigations as our 2025 Honor Graduate of the Year. Being chosen from more than 3,500 graduates is no small thing. That speaks volumes to his work ethic, drive for excellence, and ability to lead by example."

Special Agent Deardorff was raised in Newton, New Hampshire, where he embraced a family tradition of service to the nation from an early age. In 2013, he graduated from Fordham University as a Distinguished Military Graduate and was commissioned as an active-duty Military Intelligence officer in the United States Army.

In 2025, Special Agent Deardorff joined Homeland Security Investigations, where he serves at Homeland Security Investigations New England. As part of the Homeland Security Task Force Financial Group, he investigates money laundering, terrorism financing, and other federal crimes. His work supports efforts to disrupt and dismantle sophisticated transnational criminal and terrorist organizations through arrests and asset forfeitures.

"He demonstrated that leadership is measured not by rank, but by character. He earned his peers' trust because he made those around him better. That is what this award represents," said John A. Condon, Acting Executive Associate Director for Homeland Security Investigations. "We are proud to work alongside him, and we have every confidence that he will continue to serve with honor, courage, and distinction."

Throughout his distinguished career, Deardorff has exemplified professionalism, leadership, resilience, and a deep sense of duty to the United States. His selection as the 2025 Honor Graduate of the Year reflects both his personal achievements and his commitment to protecting the nation.

"It's an honor to receive this award, and I am humbled to be here today," said Special Agent Deardorff. "All of the instructors that I interacted with at FLETC were consummate professionals. I am incredible grateful and know this award would not be possible without the support of my family, numerous leaders, and colleagues who helped me get here. Thank you."

A component of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, FLETC's mission is to train and support the training of federal, state, local, and tribal law enforcement officers and international partners that are responsible for enforcing laws, treaties, and regulations within the United States and abroad.
