Demolition work begins at former farmers market site

Demolition of the former farmers market building, which was extensively damaged by fire in November 2025, begins Wednesday, September 23 and is expected to take approximately three weeks to complete, depending on site and weather conditions.

Work is permitted to take place daily from 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. During this time, residents and visitors can expect an increase in large truck traffic in the area.

The laneway between 101 Avenue and 102 Avenue will operate as one-way traffic while demolition work is underway. Drivers should follow posted signage and watch for large trucks entering and leaving the site.

Pedestrian access will remain available on sidewalks around the former farmers market, and no public parking will be affected.

Members of the public are asked to use caution around the work area and follow all posted signage.
