Fujifilm’s ELUXEO 8000® Endoscopic Imaging System in Combination with 840TP Gastroscope Wins 2026 MedTech Breakthrough Award

LEXINGTON, MA, May 7, 2026 - FUJIFILM Healthcare Americas Corporation, a leading provider of endoscopic imaging and endosurgical solutions, announced that its ELUXEO® 8000 Endoscopic Imaging System coupled with its EG-840TP ultra slim therapeutic gastroscope has been selected as the winner of the "Best New Endoscopy Technology Solution" award in the 10th annual MedTech Breakthrough Awards program. MedTech Breakthrough is an independent market intelligence organization that recognizes the top companies, technologies, and products in the global digital health and medical technology market.

Launched in 2025, the ELUXEO® 8000 and EG-840TP gastroscope work in tandem to support clinicians as they advance the field of interventional endoscopy and perform noninvasive procedures that previously were extremely difficult to perform-or simply not possible in the past- to aid as valuable tools in delivering positive patient outcomes.

"Fujifilm is known as a trailblazer in the endoscopy field, and this latest honor is very gratifying because it highlights how we continue to innovate for better healthcare outcomes," said Tai Fujita, Senior Vice President, Endoscopy Division, FUJIFILM Healthcare Americas Corporation. "We're thrilled to be recognized by MedTech once again with this Breakthrough Award. Interventional upper GI and Third Space Endoscopy procedures are noninvasive and lead to shorter hospital stays, quicker recoveries, and better outcomes-but they are very challenging for clinicians. Fujifilm's ELUXEO® 8000 system coupled with our EG-840TP ultra slim therapeutic gastroscope are tools designed to support these clinicians and help push the boundaries of emerging upper GI endoscopy techniques."

A single-unit processor and light source, ELUXEO® 8000 boasts numerous features that enhance image quality, therapeutic capabilities, and workflow efficiencies. In addition to Fujifilm's clinically-proven light modes delivering enhanced polyp detection and characterization capabilities, Fujifilm developed a new, proprietary light mode for ELUXEO 8000- Amber-Red Color Imaging (ACI). ACI supports detection of bleed sources and enhances noninvasive Third Space Endoscopy (TSE) treatment with improved visualization of blood vessels and tissue layers in the submucosal space. With TSE procedures, internal bleeding and/or cutting muscle are procedural risks and ACI provides the ability to help reduce these risks.

Pairing ELUXEO 8000 with Fujifilm's EG-840TP ultra-slim therapeutic gastroscope delivers a unique combination of exceptional imaging performance with exceptional endoscope performance. The EG-840TP was designed for emerging procedural techspace and especially in narrow lumens when navigating strictures or when tunneling in submucosal space, and offers several key differentiators compared to conventional gastroscopes. These include an ultra-slim diameter with a large 7.9mm outer diameter, enhanced angulation for better maneuverability and access, water jet function that's crucial for maintaining visibility during TSE procedures, and advanced imaging with CMOS technology.

"Fujifilm is elevating and advancing the field of third space therapeutic endoscopy with their uniquely innovative dual technologies," said Steve Johansson, managing director, MedTech Breakthrough. "We are delighted to recognize this endoscopy leader for the second consecutive year with a MedTech Breakthrough Award."

The MedTech Breakthrough Awards program celebrates excellence and innovation in the health and medical technology industry, recognizing the companies, products, and solutions, driving meaningful progress and improving patient care. This year's program attracted more than 4,500 nominations from over 18 different countries throughout the world. In 2025, Fujifilm's EN-840T Double Balloon Enteroscopy (DBE) Scope, an endoscopic imaging technology that enables access to the entire small intestine for diagnosis and therapeutic intervention, was selected as the winner of the "Best New Endoscopy Technology Solution" award in the 9th annual MedTech Breakthrough Awards program.
