The driver fatally injured in Monday's 2:30 p.m. multi-vehicle crash on Whites Creek Pike at Free Silver Road is identified as Leeann Julian, 47, of Goodlettsville.
The preliminary investigation indicates that Julian was driving a 2014 Toyota Corolla on Whites Creek Pike in the southbound lane when she and the driver of a 1995 Chevrolet box truck were stopped by a worker flagging traffic due to active road construction. Whites Creek Pike had been reduced to one lane.
Julian's car was struck from behind by the driver of a 2025 Chevrolet Malibu, Deja Fleurimond, 27. She was traveling south on Whites Creek Pike at a high rate of speed and failed to stop. The Toyota Corolla was pushed into the back of the Chevrolet box truck and continued into the right shoulder before colliding with a utility pole. Julian died at the scene. The driver of the box truck was not injured. His passenger was transported with minor injuries. Fleurimond was transported to Skyline Medical Center with non-threatening injuries.
The preliminary contributing factor for this fatal crash appears to be reckless driving on behalf of Fleurimond. Charges against her are anticipated.
