City Council To Recognize Safekey Program
Citizen And Employee Of The Month Also To Be Recognized
The Las Vegas City Council will recognize the Safekey Program at the Oct. 15, 2025, City Council meeting that will begin following the 8:30 a.m. Redevelopment Agency meeting in Council Chambers on the second floor of City Hall, located at 495 S. Main St.
Mayor Pro Tem Brian Knudsen will recognize the city staff who operate the Safekey program, which offers opportunities for learning beyond the school bell. Safekey is designed for children ages 5-11 attending kindergarten through fifth grade. It is offered at 63 elementary schools within the city in the morning before school and in the afternoons after school.
In addition, Ward 6 Councilwoman Nancy Brune will recognize Krista Holloway founder of Walk Safely LV. Walk Safely LV is a local group that works to raise awareness of roadway safety to protect students traveling to and from school. The group encourages drivers and pedestrians to pay attention on city roadways to avoid tragic crashes.
Finally, the City Council will also recognize the city's Employee of the Month.
The meeting will be broadcast live on city of Las Vegas TV.
