Center St. section to close for sewer work

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Starting Monday, Sept. 29, a section of W. Center Street will be closed for three weeks to complete needed sewer work.

The closure will take place between University Avenue and the Razorback Regional Greenway crossing to the east, which will remain open during the construction.

The work is anticipated to last until Friday, Oct. 17; however, inclement weather or unforeseen conditions could delay or extend the estimated work time.

During this time, Center will not be accessible from S. Gregg Avenue, but access to properties on Gregg will be maintained from the south.

Along with barricades, signage notifying oncoming traffic of the closure and detours will be placed at the intersections of Center and University, Center and West Avenue, and Gregg and University.

For the safety of the public and construction workers, drivers are asked to be observant and use extra care when driving in this area.
