X Marks the Spot: Grass Valley to Showcase Innovations and Integrations to Playout and MAM Solutions

IBC 2025 will see Grass Valley showcase the latest updates to its cloud-native Playout X and Framelight X solutions, including new integration capabilities

MONTREAL, CANADA - September 05, 2025 - The latest innovations in Grass Valley's AMPP applications will be on full display at IBC 2025, as the company brings significant updates to Playout X, its cloud-native playout automation solution, and Framelight X, its revolutionary media asset management and collaboration solution. Together, they give media organizations the agility to launch channels, manage content, and streamline production workflows with unprecedented speed and efficiency.

Agile Channel Creation

Playout X, designed for Tier 1 reactive and dynamic premier channel services, enables media companies to launch, brand and protect scheduled or live channels in minutes - whether for a new regional feed, FAST channel or pop-up for a major global event. Playout X allows operators to manage multiple channels at once with ease, helping drive down operational costs, while providing the tools required for operational efficiency and simplicity. Whether it's simple copy, paste, undo, or redo of last-minute reactive changes, full manual control of primary and secondary events or dynamic commercial break shuffling, Playout X keeps every channel perfectly on-air, and your audiences engaged without interruption. This ability to react instantly to last-minute changes, breaking news, or live events is what enables Playout X to empower broadcasters to deliver true "always-on" premiere channel control with the confidence that every feed stays seamless and professional.

At IBC 2025, Grass Valley is unveiling several new features to Playout X, including multi-region resilience enhancements, newsflash controls, new AMPP Control operations functionality, and innovative media workflow integrations - enabling fast turnaround editing direct to playout & content restrictions for protecting compliance.

"As audiences continue to fragment across linear, FAST, and OTT platforms, and content lifecycles are shorter than ever, Playout X gives media companies the agility to create and monetize channels at the speed of opportunity, while keeping operations lean and consistent," explains Steve Hassan, Senior Director for Playout at Grass Valley. "The new capabilities we're showcasing at IBC enable rapid response to breaking news, sports highlights, and thematic pop-ups without interruptions or building out new hardware chains and demonstrate our key focus on operational efficiency and intuitivity."

Integrated Media Management

Framelight X, Grass Valley's next-generation MAM platform, provides a streamlined end to end solution incorporating ingest, cataloguing, logging, searching, editing, and publishing - across teams, locations and time zones. Hosted natively on AMPP, it provides real-time access to content without duplicating storage or moving content unnecessarily. Unlike traditional Media Management solutions, Framelight X eliminates silos by giving every team immediate access to the same content, wherever they are.

With integrated AI tools for auto-tagging, speech-to-text, and image recognition, Framelight X accelerates the path from ingest to publish and directly integrates with Grass Valley's editing, playout, replay, and automation solutions, creating an end-to-end connected workflow. The result is faster turnaround, better collaboration and stories that reach audiences sooner.

At IBC, Grass Valley will demonstrate a range of new Framelight X integrations. The company's leading field-ingest and logging tool Mync, is now tightly integrated, creating a seamless bridge between field teams and central production. Footage captured in the field instantly becomes production-ready, searchable, and editable in Framelight X. Bi-directional integration means assets can be logged and published remotely, edited in place without exporting and dropped straight into EDIUS craft editing timelines.

Framelight X also brings its fully decentralized ingest and content management, enabling footage to be ingested, managed, and accessed from any location with only an internet connection. Combined with the market-leading web editor, users can edit growing files from anywhere in the world, ensuring productions keep moving without delay while maximizing the value of distributed talent.

Together, these enhancements help customers move from capture to air faster than ever, with less friction, lower cost, and greater creative freedom.

Integration showcase

In addition, Grass Valley will be showcasing how both solutions and the wider AMPP ecosystem are integrating with media automation platform qibb to bring smart new efficiencies and connectivity natively to AMPP workflows.

For playout, these include new automated broadcast schedule imports into Playout X, allowing broadcasters to reliably and securely go from finalized traffic schedule to on-air playout faster, without manual intervention, maintaining robust reliability and security.

Framelight X will feature two integration showcases: automated social media publishing, and high-speed file delivery. The automated social media feature allows content to be published from Framelight X to social media platforms via Ayrshare, enabling social teams to reach audiences faster while avoiding repetitive, error-prone manual uploads.

High-speed file delivery enables the transfer of files from Framelight X direct to file-transfer accelerators such as Signiant, Aspera, or MASV. The workflow runs in the background with built-in error handling, retries, and delivery status updates to remove extra workload from production teams.

Grass Valley will highlight how GVMU Alliance partners are extending these integrations across the complete AMPP ecosystem. On the booth, Saga will demonstrate its cloud-native NRCS tool working directly with Framelight X, allowing seemless movement of media between both products; PixitMedia will showcase its Ngenea data orchestration, enabling automated archiving & retrieval, streaming of growing files and showing integration with its hyperconverged Pixstor storage. Mavis will present intuitive camera to cloud workflows from the field to Framelight X, plus live streaming directly to AMPP using the Atomos Ninja Phone. AWS Elemental will highlight MediaTailor and other Media Services Solutions integrated with Playout X enabling FAST while MxMz will present its cloud native, scalable HTML5 graphics solutions now connected with Sports Producer X and Maverik X, with native integrations to Framelight X and Playout X coming soon.

Grass Valley invites you to come and experience the integrations, solutions, and innovations that are driving the media revolution at IBC 2025, Booth 9.A01, RAI Amsterdam Convention Center, September 12-15.
