Dentsply Sirona is proud to announce multiple donations of advanced dental equipment to Smile Train partners in India, China, and Indonesia. The donations are set to empower cleft-care clinicians with advanced technologies that will provide a better patient experience and enhance diagnostic precision.

Charlotte, N.C. As part of its sustainability strategy "BEYOND: Taking Action for a Brighter World", Dentsply Sirona-the world's largest diversified manufacturer of professional dental products and technologies-is ramping up its support for cleft care with three stand-alone donations of dental equipment to Smile Train partners in India, China, and Indonesia.

The initiative is part of Dentsply Sirona's longstanding partnership with Smile Train, the world's largest cleft-focused organization. Since the beginning of the collaboration, Dentsply Sirona has made 34 donations to Smile Train partner centers across the world, supporting improved access to care and helping transform the lives of children born with cleft lips and/or palates.

The donations include recent technologies that are designed to capture accurate 3D digital scans of the patient's mouth, eliminating the need for conventional impression materials and enhancing diagnostic precision.[1]

Equipment includes the Primescan intraoral scanner, the Orthophos S 3D extraoral X-Ray Imaging System, and the inEos X5 digital dental lab scanner, among others. These tools will help local clinicians deliver high-quality care for people with cleft lips and/or palates who are referred to Smile Train partners, no matter their background.

Partnering to Transform Lives

"We are proud to be making a real difference in the lives of cleft-affected children and families in communities across Asia. Through our BEYOND strategy and its Healthy Smiles pillar, we're taking meaningful action to build a brighter, healthier world. By donating dental equipment to Smile Train partner centers and hospitals, we're helping expand access to essential oral care, bringing more confident smiles to those who need them most," says Andrea Frohning, SVP, Chief Human Resources Officer at Dentsply Sirona.

1 in 700 babies are born with cleft lips and/or palates globally. In the Asia-Pacific region, cleft lips and/or palates prevalence rates are among the highest globally.[2]

"At Smile Train, we know that when we empower local cleft care providers with the right tools, training, and technology, we transform not just individual lives, but entire communities," says Susannah Schaefer, President and CEO of Smile Train. "Dentsply Sirona's latest donations underscore the transformative power of partnerships that combine technology, expertise, and education to strengthen cleft care worldwide and improve children's quality of life."
