ECUA Announces Final Phase of Emergency Sewer Repair Project at North 9th Avenue and East Salamanca Street

The Emerald Coast Utilities Authority will complete the final phase of its emergency sewer repair project at the intersection of North 9th Avenue and East Salamanca Street on Monday, June 22.

As part of the final repairs, crews will pour a concrete collar around a sewer manhole to strengthen the structure and complete the project.

To safely perform the work, the intersection will be under modified traffic control from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, June 22.

Traffic impacts will include:

-East Salamanca Street traffic will be detoured using East Romana Street and North 10th Avenue.

-East Salamanca Street will remain accessible to residents and customers requiring driveway access from North 10th Avenue.

-North 9th Avenue will be reduced to one lane in each direction through the construction zone.

-Northbound traffic will be temporarily shifted through the opposite side of the roadway while crews complete the work.

-Southbound traffic will remain open through the construction zone.

Motorists are encouraged to allow extra travel time and use caution when traveling through the area.

ECUA appreciates the public's patience and cooperation throughout this emergency repair project. These improvements will help strengthen critical wastewater infrastructure and support reliable service for customers.
