Assemblymember Harabedian Presents $21.7 Million Check to the Eaton Canyon Landscape Recovery Center as Part of Altadena's Rebuild
(ALTADENA, CA)- Assemblymember John Harabedian (D-Pasadena)presented a $21.7 million state investment at the opening of the Eaton Fire Canyon Landscape Recovery Center, marking a major milestone in Altadena's recovery from the 2025 wildfires.
The funding secured by Assemblymember Harabedian will support the rebuilding and restoration of fire-impacted parks and open space, helping re-green neighborhoods with native, climate resilient trees and plants grown locally at the new Center.
"For Altadena and nearby communities devastated by the wildfires, this Landscape Recovery Center is a promise fulfilled to help Altadena, its parks, and its residents rebuild with the lasting benefits of native trees and shrubs,"saidAssemblymember Harabedian (D-Pasadena). "I fought to secure funding for this project in the state budget because rebuilding these neighborhoods matters. Restoring parks and green spaces provides residents with places to gather and heal. This center will help the community recover while protecting and enhancing the local environment for years to come."
The Eaton Canyon Landscape Recovery Center will grow native trees and plants to restore damaged areas including Charles S. Farnsworth Park, Charles White Park, Eaton Canyon Natural Area, Loma Alta Park, Altadena Golf Course, and Triangle Park.
Assemblymember Harabedian emphasized that the investment signifies a long-term promise to the community's recovery.
"This has always been about making sure Altadena is not left behind," said Assemblymember Harabedian. "These dollars are going directly into rebuilding our parks, restoring green space, and helping families see their community come back to life."
A ceremonial tree planting followed the check presentation, symbolizing the next chapter in Altadena's recovery.
