Campbell University has received a $100,000 matching gift commitment from longtime supporter and trustee Jerry Milton, his wife, Beth '92, and his company, Southeastern Interiors. The commitment will double eligible year-end gifts to the University while matching funds remain available.
The commitment will serve as the cornerstone of Building Campbell Forward, Campbell's year-end giving campaign launching Dec. 1 on Giving Tuesday. Through Dec. 31, gifts to the Campbell Forward Fund and other eligible annual funds will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $100,000. The maximum match of any one gift is $2,500. If fully matched, the campaign will generate $200,000 in support of Campbell students, programs and University priorities.
"We are incredibly grateful to Jerry and Beth Milton and Southeastern Interiors for continuing to generously support Campbell University," said John Latteri, vice president for institutional advancement. "What makes this gift especially meaningful is the opportunity it creates for others to participate. By matching contributions from across the Campbell community, they are amplifying the impact of every gift and helping strengthen the programs, opportunities and experiences that support our students."
Milton, founder and owner of Southeastern Interiors, has supported Campbell through decades of business partnerships, philanthropy and service. His company, headquartered in Harnett County, has contributed to numerous campus projects, including the John W. Pope Jr. Convocation Center, Butler Chapel and Barker-Lane Stadium. A member of the University's Board of Trustees since 2017, Milton received the Campbell University Alumni Association's Honorary Alumnus Award in 2018. Beth and their son, Jeremy '16, are Campbell graduates.
Beth '92, Jerry and Jeremy '16 Milton"Campbell has been an important part of our family and our community for many years," Milton said. "We've been fortunate to see the University grow, and we believe in the work being done to create opportunities for students. We wanted to make this commitment in a way that encourages others to join us. It's our hope that this match inspires even more people to support Campbell and be part of its future."
The Building Campbell Forward campaign will invite alumni, parents, faculty, staff and friends to support Campbell through annual giving. Among the eligible designations is the Campbell Forward Fund, which provides flexible support for University priorities, including scholarships, capital projects and student experiences. Donors may also direct their gifts to other participating annual funds that reflect their interests and connections to Campbell.
The $100,000 matching opportunity will begin Dec. 1 and continue through Dec. 31, or until the full match has been utilized.
