Attorney General Coleman Continues Crackdown on Medicaid Fraud with Six Felony Indictments

Attorney General Russell Coleman announced today the indictment of six individuals for Medicaid fraud. On September 10, 2026, a Hardin County Grand Jury indicted Ricky Simpson, 49, of Elizabethtown and Shawna Smith, 45, of Hodgenville, for one count of Knowing Abuse or Neglect of an Adult (Class C Felony) and one count of Devising or Engaging in a Scheme to Defraud the Kentucky Medical Assistance Program of $1,000 or more (Class D Felony).
