October marks the start of Cybersecurity Awareness Month, a crucial time for organizations like Optimum to emphasize the importance of protecting sensitive information and maintaining robust security practices in an ever-changing digital world.

Over the last three years, Optimum has been on a transformation journey to evolve our network and products - all while keeping the safety and security of our customers and business in mind.

Securing our Tools, Technology and Network

From accelerating automation to revitalizing our tools, we remain hyper-focused on modernizing our technology and stabilizing our platforms to provide the best connectivity experience for our customers. This includes ensuring we deliver the safest and most reliable networks and services possible.

As we continue to safeguard critical infrastructure, we remain vigilant and proactive to ensure we can efficiently address system vulnerabilities as they arise. To combat cyberthreats, we've continued to:

• Strengthen our Zero Trust Network

• Conduct regulatory compliance and resilience exercises

• Scale our security controls, visibility and governance

• Build an arsenal of top-notch security tools and systems

• Drive a culture of cybersecurity awareness

This month, we've also taken steps to strengthen Optimum's cloud data by implementing a new unified platform that enables our teams to collaborate more seamlessly, deliver real-time protection, faster investigations, and stronger responses to issues - transforming Optimum's defenses to strengthen our cloud security from end-to-end.

Safeguarding Customers through Innovative Product Solutions

Earlier this year, we also introduced a suite of robust solutions specifically designed to protect Optimum Business customers from cybersecurity threats as they continue to face increased digital risks.

• Optimum Business Secure Fiber Internet : Provides free, built-in cybersecurity for customers who join Optimum Business' Fiber Internet network, which provides high-speed connectivity at up to 8 Gig speeds and 99.9% network reliability. Key safeguards include 24/7 protection from Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attacks, Domain Name System (DNS) Security to ensure site validity and safe browsing, and more.

• Optimum Business Secure Internet Plus : Secure Internet Plus is an add-on cloud-based security solution for all Optimum Business customers that provides the same network protection but with added benefits. Through Secure Internet Plus, customers can personalize their network security settings, implement features like flexible web filtering to block specific content, categories, or sites, and unlock custom reporting on security events, internet usage patterns, and potential threats - all in one secure portal.

These new products build upon our Business Connection Backup offering, which is a managed service that provides a reliable, always-on internet connection for business-critical systems in the event of a network or power outage.

Protecting our People

In order to keep our employees and business both safe and secure, our dedicated Security Operations Center (SOC) is responsible for monitoring, detecting, analyzing, and responding to cybersecurity threats against Optimum in real time.

As part of this, the team reviews proactive and reactive security measures to combat against common online threats (like malware or phishing emails), conducts internal pressure tests, implements AI technologies to help identify unusual activities, and more. They are the lifeblood of our internal defense against unknown and harmful online threats.

At the end of the day, there will always be a new cyber threat. However, at Optimum, we continue to invest in our people, tools, and technology to deliver effective product solutions and a reliable connectivity experience - securing the safety of our customers and colleagues every day.
