AgFirst employee Mariah Tighe's commitment to leadership, service and community impact has earned her one of the Midlands' most prestigious honors: selection as a 2026 Woman of Distinction by Girl Scouts of South Carolina Mountains to Midlands.
The Women of Distinction program honors women who exemplify the Girl Scout values of courage, confidence and character through their professional accomplishments, community impact and dedication to helping others succeed. Tighe, this year's Young Professional Alumni Honoree, and her fellow award recipients will be recognized Sept. 10 at the Cathy Novinger Girl Scout Leadership Center in Columbia during the organization's annual Women of Distinction celebration.
A Systems Security Analyst, Tighe was recognized for her leadership, commitment to community engagement and ongoing efforts to make a positive difference in the Midlands. Through her professional work and volunteer involvement, she has helped create opportunities for others while embodying the values celebrated by the Girl Scouts Women of Distinction program.
"This recognition is especially meaningful because it celebrates leadership rooted in service, mentorship and community impact," Tighe said. "I've been fortunate to work alongside talented colleagues, community partners and friends who inspire me every day. I share this honor with them and hope it encourages young women and girls to lead confidently, pursue their passions and make a difference wherever they are."
The Women of Distinction program serves not only as a celebration of individual achievement but also as a fundraiser supporting Girl Scout leadership development programs. Each year, the celebration brings together community leaders, businesses and supporters to recognize women whose lives and careers reflect the ideals of the Girl Scout movement.
