"As a commissioned officer the three most important and honorable opportunities you have are to promote, re-enlist and host retirement ceremonies, and this morning I am absolutely honored to be here with you all to celebrate the legacies of 25 retirees," Kelly said.

Kelly said it is an honor for him to celebrate retirees who dedicated their professional careers to warfighter support-Troop Support's mission.

"Celebrating employees who gave selflessly to this organization and the warfighters around the world is one of the greatest honors and best part of this job," Kelly said. "Each retiree here represents the commitment and dedication we foster and celebrate here at DLA Troop Support."

Retirees took the opportunity to provide remarks of reflection on their civilian careers at Troop Support and update the workforce on their retirement plans. Many retirees expressed gratitude to their coworkers, friends and families. Many also addressed how working at Troop Support changed their lives for the better through professional development.

"We all work very closely here [at Troop Support]," Depue said. "To me, this was a very important part of it. This made it joyful. I can't tell you how much I have learned here doing just that."

Kelly presented each retiree with a certificate of retirement, a DLA retirement memento, a pin of appreciation, a Commander's coin and star note. In appreciation of their support of loved ones over the years, spouses also received a letter of appreciation from Kelly.
