GENTEXT/REMARKS/1. Purpose. The assignment of Marines to
the United States Service Academies requires high caliber
individuals for positions that support the accession of junior
officers into the military service within the Department of War.
Per reference (a), on 3 June 2026, a panel convened at Headquarters
Marine Corps and selected Marines for assignment to the United
States Naval Academy (USNA), and the Naval Academy Preparatory
School (NAPS) in AY27-28.
2. The Service Slating Academy slate below is subject to change.

3. This message serves as notification of orders for officers
listed in paragraph 2.a-2.c. Selected officers are directed to
contact their PMOS monitor NLT 10 days from the release of this
MARADMIN.
3.a. Enlisted Marines must contact the Drill Instructor Monitor for
follow-on instructions and to acknowledge selection NLT 10 days from
the release of this MARADMIN.
3.b. Selected officers who have not yet accepted Career Designation
(CD) will be offered CD in conjunction with this assignment.
Retention & Release Officer, MMOA-3 will notify all selectees being
offered CD via Marine Online (MOL). Officers offered CD must accept
or decline by responding via MOL NLT 10 days from the release of
this MARADMIN. Officers who do not respond by the deadline will be
considered as having declined CD. Officers who decline the offer of
CD in conjunction with this panel selection will execute their
current End of Active Service IAW MCO 1001.65A and forfeit their
selection to their respective Service Academy.
3.c. Once an officer acknowledges their selection, they are subject
to reference (a) through (c).
3.d. Officers not attending Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) will be
issued orders to their respective Service Academy upon the release
of this message. The report date unless otherwise directed by their
respective Service Academy will be NLT 31 May 2027.
3.d.1. Officers currently attending NPS will receive orders that
correlate with their respective course graduation dates.
3.e. There is no deferral of selection.
3.f. Declinations. Requests for declination by officers who
volunteered and were selected for Service Academy duty will not
receive favorable consideration. Only officers whose end of
obligated service ends prior to the report date may request to
decline orders. Officers eligible to decline this assignment have
NLT 10 days from the release of this MARADMIN to decline their
selection. Officers who elect to decline their selection are
considered to have resigned in lieu of orders. Officers who resign
in lieu of orders will exit the service NLT the last day of the
month they were required to report to their future unit, NLT 31 May
2027.
3.f.1. Officers currently attending NPS are not authorized to
decline their selection based on obligated service incurred via
their Graduate Education program.
3.f.2. Enlisted Marines will reach out to the Drill Instructor
Monitor for possible assignment modifications.
4. Vacant positions. There are four vacancies the panel did not
select a Marine to fill. Vacancies will be filled through the
normal officer or enlisted assignment process. Interested officers
must reach out to their individual Primary MOS monitor to discuss
their eligibility. Interested Enlisted Marines must reach out to
Drill Instructor Monitor for consideration.
4.a. The vacant positions are as follows.
4.a.1. (1) USNA 8006, O-3 Language Instructor
(Japanese or German preferred)
4.a.2. (1) USNA 8006, O-3 Economics Instructor
(Master's degree required)
4.a.3. (2) USNA 8014, SSgt or GySgt, Senior Enlisted Leader
5. Coordinating Instructions
5.a. Officers selected to the LEAD Master's Program will incur 36
months of obligated service upon completion of their LEAD Master's
Degree. Each officer will have 12 months of obligated service
remaining at the end of their USNA tour and should expect to receive
PCA/PCS orders near the completion of their tour to execute in the
summer of 2030. The end of obligated service for a LEAD Master's
selectee is projected to be 1 July 2031.
5.b. Officers selected above who are currently attending NPS will
incur 48 months of obligated service upon completion of their NPS
degree program. Each officer will have 12 months of obligated
service remaining at the end of their USNA tour and should expect to
receive PCA/PCS orders near the completion of their tour to execute
in the summer of 2030. The end of obligated service for officers
currently attending NPS and selected for service at USNA is
projected to be 1 July 2031.
5.c. Officers selected in paragraph 2 who do not fall into the two
categories above will incur obligated service in accordance with the
Joint Travel Regulations and reference (b).
5.d. Enlisted Marines must be willing to accept the required
obligated service for 36 months.
