LAINGS NEW SHOWROOM AND WORKSHOP OPENS IN GLASGOW'S ARGYLL ARCADE

Today, 30th July 2026, marks the opening of luxury jeweller Laings fifth showroom in the UK, opening its doors within Glasgow's iconic Argyll Arcade. Laings previously occupied space in the arcade from 1971 before departing in 2024 to open their flagship showroom on Buchanan Street. An evolution of Laings current offering, the newly renovated Argyll Arcade showroom will host exclusive collections, workshop services and client experiences.

Honouring tradition, Laings new workshop has been designed to keep the craft of jewellery making and preservation alive. Complete with glass panelling, the space invites clients to see skilled craftspeople at work in real time, offering a rare glimpse into the artistry behind jewellery care and creation. The addition will also introduce a variety of quick-service options, including engraving and selected same-day repairs.

As the first open workshop of its kind for Laings, the space reveals the magical world of jewellery craftsmanship while inspiring a renewed appreciation for preservation.

It provides a rare opportunity for clients to see the craftsmanship behind fine jewellery first-hand, bringing them closer to the artistry and skill that define our business. From restoration and alteration services to engraving, charm welding and bespoke work, the workshop allows us to care for treasured pieces while creating new memories for future generations, giving clients the opportunity to leave a personal mark on a piece in a meaningful and lasting way. Having these services visible within the showroom creates a unique connection between our craftspeople and our clients, allowing them to be part of the magic and gain a deeper appreciation for the expertise behind every piece that passes through our hands."

Four new jewellery collections have launched exclusively within the new showroom and online, with many pieces crafted in Single Mine Origin gold and designed and made in the UK. SMO gold has been adopted by Laings in the past few years, traced back to a specific mine, this material is a direct connection to the source - fully traceable and responsible.

Rooted in Laings heritage, each new collection brings together storytelling, craftsmanship and contemporary design.
Tide draws on Laings historic ties to shipbuilding, with rope-inspired motifs across earrings, pendants, bracelets and rings. Nova, Laings first charm collection, celebrates personalisation through customisable pendants, bracelets and hoop earrings, finished with gemstone charms and engravable details. The collection also introduces celestial-inspired rings, set with constellation-like arrangements of diamonds and gemstones.

A collection rooted in heritage, 1840, honours Laings 186-year legacy with a Celtic knot design inspired by the brand's Scottish origins. To mark the launch, each piece will be available at a special introductory price.

Laings final new collection, Symphony of Love, reveals a new engagement ring concept built around choice and personalisation. Rather than selecting a finished ring, clients are invited to compose their own piece, choosing an individual diamond before pairing it with an exclusive setting to create a design that feels personal, considered and entirely unique.

Devlin McKeown leads the expertly trained showroom team, bringing together dedicated advisors, designers and skilled craftspeople to deliver the expert, personal service for which Laings is renowned. Following an extensive training programme, the team is ready to welcome clients old and new into the new Argyll Arcade showroom, offering an experience shaped by expertise, craftsmanship and exceptional client care.
