Congressman Gabe Evans Votes to Strengthen U.S. Military and Support Service Members

WASHINGTON - Today Congressman Gabe Evans, an Army combat veteran and former Black Hawk helicopter pilot, voted to pass the Fiscal Year 2026 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), the annual defense authorization bill that restores America's military's focus and puts service members first, so they can keep our nation safe and secure.

Congressman Evans also secured an amendment to the NDAA, which would identify gaps in America's defense supply chain. The amendment requires the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment to join an independent review of the infiltration and implications of non-domestic manufacturing equipment and software programs supplying to the U.S. defense industrial base. Currently, members of the US military-industrial supply chain rely on equipment and software that originates from places like China and Russia, allowing for potential backdoors into defense supply chains.

"As a veteran I know firsthand the importance of prioritizing America's strong military presence across the globe. This National Defense Authorization Act restores America's military superiority, ends virtue signaling programs like DEI that endanger our troops by detracting from perishable warfighting skills, and shifts the focus back where it belongs - our service members and national security. Republicans are making sure our service members receive the pay, benefits, and tools needed to keep our nation safe." -Congressman Gabe Evans

The Fiscal Year 2026 National Defense Authorization Act will…

✅ Codify nearly 15 of President Trump's Executive Orders and over 30 legislative priorities requested by the administration to end left wing ideology and DEI in the military and place maximum emphasis on the skills necessary to survive a lethal encounter.

✅ End reliance on Chinese-made critical technologies by expanding America's defense industrial base, securing a Made-in-America supply chain

✅ Protect national security against foreign infiltration by requiring contractor/supply chain transparency

✅ Maintain the historic junior enlisted servicemember pay increase achieved in FY 25

✅ Save taxpayers billions by cutting wasteful and outdated defense programs

✅ Accelerate U.S. manufacturing of drones, ships, and advanced defense technology

✅ Strengthen America's defense workforce through training and talent programs

✅ Restore a merit-based military by prohibiting woke programs and ideology
