Pinal County District 5 Supervisor Jeff Serdy and Sheriff Ross Teeple talk about how a solution has been found in the event of the US60 being closed, leaving residents of Gold Canyon stranded without a way out.
The emergency route that would be opened up would be between Superstition Mountain Drive, close to the Subway, and Silly Mountain, via a dirt road that Public Works will maintain. Residents in the Kings Ranch Road area can reach the emergency route by taking Golden Rim Circle, which becomes Don Donnelly and connects with Superstition Mountain Drive.
Communication regarding the opening of the road would be through PENS, so be sure to sign up if you have not done so.
