Public Notice: Charitable Trust Lease Agreement

CHARLES COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

PUBLIC NOTICE

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, in compliance with Local Government Article, Section 10-312, of the Annotated Code of Maryland, that the County Commissioners of Charles County, propose to enter into a Commercial Lease Agreement Charles County Charitable Trust, Inc., a non-profit organization, for the county-owned property located at 10250 La Plata Road, La Plata, Maryland 20646. The county-owned property contains a building that is approximately 2,175 square feet. It was previously leased to United Way of Southern Maryland, Inc., for space to conduct administrative tasks and other activities in furtherance of the nonprofit community in Charles County, and will continue to be leased for that same purpose. The proposed Commercial Lease Agreement is for a term of 15 years, commencing June 1, 2026. The annual rent is $1.00. A copy of the Commercial Lease Agreement is available for review in the County Administrator's Office, Charles County Government.

The County Commissioners of Charles County will accept public comments on the proposed Commercial Lease Agreement until 5:00 p.m. May 15, 2026 by electronic submission to https://www.charlescountymd.gov/government/public-comments/commissioners-public-comments/2026/lease-agreement-with-charitable-trust, or in writing addressed to Charles County Commissioners, 200 Baltimore Street, La Plata, Maryland 20646 Attn: Public Comments.
