NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ (April 23, 2026) - Christina Sciancalepore, a guidance counselor at Roosevelt School, has been honored as the Middlesex County 2026 Guidance Counselor of the Year. Recognized for her empathetic and holistic approach to student care, Sciancalepore received the award during a recent ceremony celebrating her commitment to the school's 530 K-5 students.
Beyond traditional counseling, she spearheaded the "Glasses for Classes" program, which provided vision screenings for more than 300 students and resulted in 99 children receiving new eyeglasses. Her work at Roosevelt includes classroom programming, leadership groups like Pledge Pals and Hero Squad, and the use of play therapy to help younger students communicate.
Sciancalepore is a consistent presence at the school, greeting students each morning and participating in extracurricular events. Her proactive dedication, including personally wrapping holiday gifts for students, has been recognized by the school administration as a vital component of the learning environment. Congratulations!
