Jan. 14, 2026 - Cold night shelters are open Thursday, Jan 15 at multiple locations across St. Pete. The Homeless Leadership Alliance has coordinated with local shelters to ensure that individuals in need have a warm and safe place to sleep. Shelters are activated when the National Weather Service expects a "feels like" temperature below 40 degrees across the county between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. Shelters will not be open Friday night, Jan. 16
Shelter guests are accepted until the shelter is full.
The Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority (PSTA) will provide free bus rides to and from cold night shelters from 5 p.m. Tuesday through 7 a.m. Wednesday. Riders must tell PSTA drivers they are going to a Pinellas Cold Night Shelter when boarding to ride fare-free.
