The City of Cathedral City is proud to celebrate the graduation of the first cohort from its IGNITE 4-week business program, an economic development initiative created to spark entrepreneurship and empower local businesses through networking, workshops, and resource-sharing.
Over the past month, participants gained practical tools in business planning, financial management, marketing, access to capital, and developing an entrepreneurial mindset. These are the skills that transform ideas into businesses, and businesses into community anchors that create jobs, attract investment, and revitalize neighborhoods.
The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) reminds us that "small business" isn't always small at all; it can mean a company with up to 500 employees or $7.5 million in annual revenue. What does that mean here in Cathedral City? It means a student with a side hustle could one day be running a million-dollar venture. It means a retiree's passion project could grow into something that creates jobs. It means an employee ready to step out on their own, or a local auto shop, restaurant, or food truck aiming for a second location, already holds the spark of something transformative.
And that's exactly what the IGNITE program is about: taking that spark and turning it into strategy.
The Next Step: Level Up
Building on this momentum, Cathedral City invites entrepreneurs across the Coachella Valley to register for Level Up - Growth and Expansion Strategy, the next 4-week IGNITE series designed to help businesses scale.
