AUC Chairperson had an audience this afternoon with H.E. President William Ruto

The Chairperson of the AU Commission, H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, had an audience this afternoon with H.E. President William Samoei Ruto on the sidelines of the COMESA Summit in Nairobi.

The Chairperson briefed President Ruto on progress in implementing the ongoing AU institutional reforms and commended his steadfast leadership as Champion of the reform agenda.

President Ruto, in turn, applauded the Chairperson's commitment and achievements in strengthening the organisation.

Both the President & the Chairperson reaffirmed their shared commitment to advancing the reforms to ensure a more effective, sovereign, & fit-for-purpose African Union, & agreed to work closely ahead of the Special Summit on Reforms in Luanda, Angola, this November.
