After a pair of close games with some controversial calls, College Football at Cosm rolls on.
Saturday started at the Cotton Bowl, where fans were transported to Dallas to watch the Red River Rivalry like never before. Top-ranked Texas was poised to keep the top spot and remain undefeated. That is, until unranked Oklahoma stunned Texas, defeating the Longhorns 27-24.
With placekicker Tate Sandell's walk-off field goal, the Sooners escaped what would've been their third consecutive Red River loss. But after two years, Oklahoma finally emerged from the rivalry game victorious and fashionably, donning the iconic Golden Hat trophy.
The close games continued in Tuscaloosa, where Georgia faced Alabama in an SEC showdown. What could've been anyone's game late in the fourth quarter came down to the officials.
In the final minutes, officials missed what looked like a clear pass-interference call on Georgia safety KJ Bolden. Bolden then sacked Alabama quarterback Keelon Russell on the next play, knocking the Crimson Tide out of field goal range. With Alabama unable to get the ball back, the Bulldogs took the 20-17 win over the Crimson Tide and the No. 1 spot in the AP Top 25.
In Week 7, College Football at Cosm hits the halfway point with a Big Ten battle and a prime-time matchup in Provo.
This Week In College Football at Cosm
#4 Ohio State (5-1) vs. #5 Indiana (6-0)
Last Meeting: Indiana [13-10] Ohio State (2025)
Saturday at Cosm starts off in Bloomington with the first-ever top-five matchup at Memorial Stadium.
Last year's Big Ten championship game has not been forgotten, and No. 4 Ohio State hopes to get its revenge on No. 5 Indiana in this get-back game.
We're all familiar with what Ohio State can do with its star players. Quarterback Julian Sayin and wide receiver Jeremiah Smith have led the charge this season, and they'll be looking to halt Indiana's 22-game winning streak.
But the Hoosiers aren't on a winning streak because of pure luck. With a dominant offensive line and strong quarterback in Josh Hoover, Coach Curt Cignetti plans to use the home-field advantage as part of Indiana's strategy to keep its winning streak alive.
#2 Notre Dame (6-0) vs. #8 BYU (5-0)
Last Meeting: Notre Dame [28-20] BYU (2022)
Saturday continues with a prime-time matchup in Provo as No. 2 Notre Dame faces No. 8 BYU.
Both are undefeated heading into Week 7, but only one will remain so. This game is the one to watch: the first-ever matchup between two top-10 teams in Provo.
BYU has had great success behind quarterback Bear Bachmeier. His smart play combined with an aggressive defensive line has helped the Cougars to a perfect start this season. But with the Cougars' lead running back LJ Martin out with an injury, Notre Dame has the opportunity to capitalize and deliver BYU its first loss of the season.
History is not the only reason to watch. The Fighting Irish and the Cougars both have eyes on a College Football Playoff berth.

Learn A New Tradition
Big Jake
It's gameday at Indiana University.
At Memorial Stadium, you're bound to hear the roar of fans in the crowd and the sound of fight songs in the air. But there's one sound fans hope to hear, because it means that the Hoosiers have scored a touchdown.
And that's the celebratory sound of Big Jake, IU Football's vintage 75mm pack howitzer gun. Big Jake earned its name in honor of Brigadier General Jacob Ammen, IU's first professor of Military Science.
The World War II-era cannon sits just behind the north end zone, ready to shoot a giant flame with a thundering boom after every touchdown at an IU home game.
With Big Jake comes big responsibility, and that falls on the IU Army ROTC cannon crew. The cannon crew is made up of IU Army ROTC members tasked with cleaning, loading, and firing off the cannon.
And the celebration doesn't stop there. Members add to the touchdown celebration by doing a set of push-ups.
"The cannon riles up the crowd," Cadet and cannon crew leader Sam Enes described in an interview with Christian Crosby. "The energy at IU as soon as you fire that cannon is unmatched."
With a tradition as big as Big Jake, one thing is certain: the Indiana Hoosiers and the IU ROTC cannon crew know how to fire up a crowd-literally.
