Scheduled to begin Wednesday, September 17, 2025

Contra Costa & Marin Counties - Caltrans will change the Changeable Message Sign (CMS) display for the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge (RSRB) 3rd lane eastbound I-580 approach to a white-on-black display beginning Wednesday, September 17, 2025. This adjustment is being made to conserve energy and reduce wear-and-tear on the LEDs, and it complies with the California Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (CA MUTCD) requirements.

Both the large CMS and the smaller CMS located downstream will be affected by this change.
