Neal Blasts Latest Republican Attempt to Gut Health Care

SPRINGFIELD, MA-Ways and Means Committee Ranking Member Richard E. Neal (D-MA) released the following statement blasting House Republicans for another unworkable attempt to hike costs on millions of people and undermine the health care system:

"House Republicans' idea of a 'new' health care plan is a handful of decades old proposals that cost more and give patients less coverage. It won't lower costs for the millions of Americans facing skyrocketing premium increases and it will undermine our years of progress. Republicans had all year to act, and have repeatedly chosen to ignore the crisis they created: forcing the people to pay more to get less.

"The best way to reduce health care costs for millions of Americans right now is Leader Jeffries' discharge petition, a clean three-year extension of the expanded ACA premium tax credits. All we need are 4 Republicans to do right by their constituents and sign on. Anything less is waste of time."
