TRAFFIC ALERT - New Castle County - Upcoming Closures for the I-95 / route 896 Interchange

The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) announces there will be an overnight multi-lane closure on northbound I-95 for a traffic pattern change on Monday and Tuesday and, if needed, on Wednesday. There will be an overnight multi-lane closure on southbound I-95 for concrete pavement work on Thursday. There will be an around-the-clock lane closure on southbound Route 72 on Monday through Friday for guardrail work. There will be overnight lane closures on northbound and southbound Route 72 with a contra-flow traffic pattern for bridge work Monday through Thursday.

Monday, September 21: Overnight multi-lane closure on northbound I-95 from the Route 896 Interchange to the service plaza (single lane 6:00 PM; double lane 7:00 PM - ; 5:00 AM)
Tuesday, September 22: Overnight multi-lane closure on northbound I-95 from the toll plaza to the service plaza (single lane 6:00 PM; double lane 10:00 PM - ; 5:00 AM) - ; backup date, Wednesday, September 23
Thursday, September 24: Overnight multi-lane closures on southbound I-95 from the service plaza to the toll plaza (single lane 7:00 PM, double lane 9:00 PM, triple lane 12:00 AM - ; 5:00 AM)

Monday, September 21 through Friday, September 25: Around-the-clock lane closure, southbound Route 72 from the I-95 Overpass to Bellevue Road (continuously from 7:00 AM through 5:00 PM)
Monday, September 21 through Thursday, September 24: Overnight lane closures (contraflow traffic pattern), northbound and southbound Route 72 from Old Baltimore Pike to Bellevue Road (7:00 PM - ; 7:00 AM)
