Spring weight restrictions on roads lifted

Spring weight restrictions on provincial roads in Prince Edward Island have now been lifted, effective April 28.

These restrictions are put in place each spring to protect roads while they soften during the thaw. Now that road conditions have improved, the seasonal limits are no longer needed.

The provincial government thanks members of the trucking industry for their cooperation during the spring weight restrictions.

Motorists are also reminded that spring driving conditions can include frost heaves, potholes and other surface changes. Drivers should use caution and adjust to road conditions in the weeks ahead.
