STATEMENT: Sen. Schiff on Islamic Center of San Diego Shooting

San Diego, CA - Today, U.S. Senator Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) released the following statement in response to today's shooting at the Islamic Center of San Diego, which took three lives:

"I'm heartbroken by the shooting at the Islamic Center of San Diego, and my prayers are with the families of the three precious lives lost today.

"Today's shooting is a horrific attack on Southern California's Muslim community. Every American should be able to practice their faith without fear of violence. And we must never be silent in the face of hate.

"I am immensely grateful to law enforcement officers and first responders who, in the face of terror, heroically ran into harm's way to protect families and children.

"My heart is with all San Diego families during this terrible tragedy."
