NEWS RELEASE
For Immediate Release: Oct. 21, 2026
DALLAS - To foster early reading habits and expand home libraries, education non-profit United to Learn is hosting a Book Bash for nearly 400 students at Preston Hollow Elementary School at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Oct. 23. The campuswide literacy celebration will blend music, student activities, and book giveaways - ensuring every child takes home a brand-new book of their own. Research shows that early access to home book ownership directly improves reading frequency, vocabulary development, and long-term academic confidence.
Bond community meeting
Dallas ISD will host a Bond Community Meeting at 6:30 p.m., tonight, Oct. 21, at Hogg New Tech Center to outline future plans for the campus. Community members are invited to attend, review project details, ask questions, and provide feedback as district leaders continue plans for long-term campus improvements.
