Online labor redistributions coming, Feb. 23

UA HR announced that online labor redistributions are coming Feb. 23.

We are happy to announce that online Labor Redistributions (LR) will be available through UAOnline on February 23, 2026. If you are responsible for initiating or approving labor redistributions, please pay close attention to the following.

What is changing?

  • LRs are initiated through UAOnlin
  • Approvals will be routed automatically through UAOnline
  • Approvers can review and approve LRs through mobile phones
  • Justifications will be entered into the electronic LRs in UAOnline rather than additional backup documentation
  • Revised timesheets for hourly employees are no longer required as backup documentation for LRs (for those budget offices that currently require it).
  • If the hourly employee is paid on a grant, then the employee is added to the LR approval queue

What remains the same? University grants and contracts offices and budget offices will still review LRs impacting sponsored projects to make sure that the changes are allowable and within the fiscal year. All labor redistributions still need a department approver, who is different from the person who initiates the LR online

What do I need to do? Paper labor redistributions will not be accepted after Feb. 27, 2026

Make sure you sign up for one of the following training sessions:

  • Tuesday, Feb. 17, 10 a.m.
  • Thursday, Feb. 19, 2 p.m.
  • Monday, February 23, 3 p.m.
  • Wednesday, February 25, 10 a.m.
