The City of Montgomery is taking bold steps to grow opportunities in housing and economic development with the launch of the Supporting Empowered Emerging Developers (SEED) Academy. This innovative program is designed to equip start-up and emerging real estate developers with the knowledge, tools, and technical support they need to succeed in Montgomery's evolving housing and small business ecosystem.
SEED Academy is being delivered in partnership with Grow America, a nationally recognized nonprofit that has built a strong track record of preparing diverse and emerging developers across the country. The Academy will engage up to 25 participants in a week-long, hands-on experience that blends classroom instruction, technical assistance, and real-world application.
"Housing is the foundation," said Mayor Steven L. Reed. "By preparing our housing stock as the first line of defense against climate risks, and as a pathway to build wealth, we are investing in people and places that can thrive. SEED Academy is a direct response to that vision."
Program Features
By investing in this program, the City is advancing its goals for housing security, climate resilience, economic mobility, and neighborhood revitalization.
